TITLE: Strange days EP
CAT #: 014
FORMAT: 12″
A1 Sunday manifesto featuring Jus_Ed
A2 Les vampires bakalas
B1 Sunday manifesto (Rick Wade’s sunday fear mix)
B2 Today, brother Preview
The countdown is on the way to celebrate 15 releases on Deep Explorer and the previous step is this number 014 signed by Dubbyman.
Strange Days Ep reflects in a four tracks work, the meaning of the deep sound in different ways without prejudices about time and forms.
The Opening track is “Sunday Manifesto”, a groovy moody track with an obsessive chords taken from the old soul scene and the speech of mr JUS-ED the head of UNDERGROUND QUALITY one of the most important labels in deep house at this time. Taken from a skit of his monstrous “Unitu Kolabo 4×12″ , Jus-ED let us a funny but true opinion about working in the holidays, specifically, on sundays…
Later comes “Les Vampires Bakalas” a darky midtempo tune below the 110bpms that mix crazy moogs with spiritual percussions and a shocking clap that would remind some of those B sides on Psychostasia records..In the B side we got the dinamic remix from “Sunday manifesto” by the hands of RICK WADE (Harmony park, Funky Chocolate, Trackmode…) He accelerates the tempo, extends the groove and burn the floor, playing with the voice in a funny way. A 100% Rick Wade remix. To close the Ep “Today Brother”. Combined elements from old disco and funky live music to make real and imperishable house music that at times sounds deep and later disco with a bassline that hypnotize the dancers.. Sounds a classic..but it’s new, man! We’ll see you at the 15th….Go ahead explorers…..
Yore continues the hunt for an extra portion of the deep. This latest 12″ Release
by Spain’s “Dubbyman” (head of Deep Explorer Music), brings us some serious
deep early morning house grooves, filled with overwhelming warmth and
sensational sweet melodies. Each down-tempo track, focuses around an overall
strong groove, that will get you feet whip and get your heads turning, while
soulful voice snippets flirt with your ears. Dubbyman is at his best on this
“Dubless EP” and surely proves to be a man to look out for. The ep also features
a remix of “Loveless” by his brother Above Smoke, that takes the original mix
more into a clubby 4/4 vein and nicely gives a round up to this. Dubbyman &
Above Smoke are the heads of Deep Explorer Music, a label that has become
a cult for all deep house lovers after having splendid releases and remixes by
Nick Sole, Juju & Jordash, Mick Huckaby, Lady Blacktronika, Sasha Dive and
others. If there could be a message to this release, we’d say it should be:
Soul strikes back and empty hearted music will be
overcome musically. Word.

True soul inside four tracks where Crab shows his personal point of view about mixing the roots of black music with slow new textures in motion..
It’s deep..
Another compilation in Deep Explorer to break the legend that cursed the number 13.
Opening the fire with “I am here” (Piano mix) by Scott Ferguson and singer Marvin Belton.
Is the third visit from these guys to Deep Explorer. As always they deliver giving a
deep uphouse tune with some muscle.A mixture of swirling atmosphere,
percussive piano, and the incredible voice of Mr. Belton riding the rhythm like no other.
The second cut is “Windtalker” an ambient midtempo housey tune
from Andres Ordonez aka Specter from Chicago, representing Tetrode music,
a cult label that have 3 legenday releases on their catalogue that represent an
influence to many people today. Lisergic textures deep from the heart in that
way that only Andres knows how to do it. More than deep..
B side is for Baaz. A guy from Germany with a lot of things to say. And this year
he is showing his weapons very good with a river of releases on Sthlmaudio,
Elevate and one track for a compilation in Deep vibes label.
For us he gaves “Memories” another piece of fresh and serious house with a clean
use of dirty elements.
The sampler is closed with an ironic thing because the last track is called
Track #1 and is a precious jewel from the hands of stereociti (Tokio).
To file near the earlys KDJ and Sound signature issues. A slow beat with
delicate keys and a live guitar played by the artist.

STREOCITI – Citifunk EP

Using real instruments (expecially the guitar) and taking influence from the always influencers goodfathers of the scene like Moodyman, You can play in the mix and you can use it like your BSO for the next days..

Immense techno at the deepest end of the dub spectrum. The Asphalt present ’8 mile road’ a reference to Detroit’s famous landmark, and also a sonic reference to the beatdown styles of Theo Parrish, with a sub 120bpm deeply blue cut with a sprinkling of fuzzy chord changes and some mellifluous crooning in the best possible taste. Dubbyman picks up the tempo a little and adds some thick sub action on his remix, while Sacha Dive transforms ’8 Mile road’ into an immense dub cut with even deeper subs,. However the best is saved right till last with Juju and Jordash’s remix edit completely eclipsing the original material with some unreal production tweaks fleshing out the sound into a psychedelic dub house style that needs to be heard to be believed. Recommended – especially for the Sascha Dive and Juju and Jordash cuts which owns this twelve.
A Tribute to FerrisPark and Psychostasia. We open with soul singer Marvin Belton and his ”Back to Africa” – a percussive vocal tune that grows step by step among a sea of Detroit atmospheres. Next up on the A side, ”Dancing in circles” by Scott Ferguson uses his weapons mixing disco, funky horns and deep chords. The B side walks in another way of the deep ….the techno deep… Fire is opened with ”Transformation” by Reggie Dokes, the mind behind Psychostasia, the cult label from Detroit, and known too for his releases on Detroit beatdown and Sound Signature, offering the best mix between percussive house and melodic techno… To complete the circle Juju and Jordash let things go jazzy with a slowdown techno rhythm.
With a name like Dubbyman and a title like Dubtroit then you might be expecting some second rate Basic Channel rip off but fear not as this is one the best slices of deepness we’ve heard this year. Dubbymans opening track just relies on a simple bassline, a strange sax sample and some subtle effects. Mike Huckaby pitches in with a percussive Detroit House style remix. Nick Sole’ fresh from the success of his Mojuba release dubs things out even more. Dubbyman this finishes it off with slow -mo house that sounds like Theo Parrish jamming with Jay Dee. Nice…..
Rush hour review
On the A side, there’s Dubbyman’s midtempo ‘Arrecifes de coral’; followed by ‘Messages from the dub’ as a Mike Huckaby (Synth, Deep Transportation) remix – a percussive house cut with signature chords and spares vocals. The flip has the A1 track ‘Arrecifes de coral’, remixed by Mojuba’s Nick Sole, turning up the pace, and adding chords. Also on the flip there’s the midtempo track ‘Dinner with Cousteau’ !
Tracklist A1 The Lady Blacktronika Its All About Survival (I Heart Huckaby Mix)
B1 Dubbyman Jazz for May (Alton Miller Remix)
B2 AntonZap Stop the Rainâ
The Lady Blacktronika
New to Producing but not new to the electronic scene. A born and raised Californian, but she is dedicated to the dirty sounds of Detroit Techno and House. Hoping to create a unique sound that is deeply influenced by Detroit artists such as Theo Parrish, Moodymann and Norma Jean Bell, producers with integratiy to what this house and techno shit is really about!!! “Its all about survival” represents her debut. Deep and dirty vibes with a sick deveploment that really will surprise you. Pure dope.
Alton Miller
(Moods&Grooves, Trackmode, Peacefrog)
The house master legend from Detroit takes control with this remix of a classic track of Dubbyman edited in the sub label of Deep Explorer :Sybaris records.
If the original version was submerged into the jazz vibe with a funky slow rhythm, Alton decides to rise the time of the track and reinforce the rhythm to offer a solid hot house track, black and powerful.
AntonZap
28 years old, Moscow based producer & dj.
Find his inspiration in early house music when it was raw, deep and atmospheric. Searching for a sound to match everyday urban living. Anton also works on two more projects which are Papa Z Trio (mutant jazz) and FireChief (techno). “Stop the rain” closed the Ep and it represents his debut on vinyl. A raw and slow house track with sexy vocals and twisted bass influenced by Kdj and the American soul scene.
Ernie opens the digital division of Deep Explorer with his “Cocina Salvaje E.P.”,
a collection of four tracks full of minimal beats, sad frequencys and lisergic
ambients for deep gourmets that likes to dive into the abyss…
